Bridging the Digital Divide

Hacienda’s Arrobas program is an initiative created to support our community and provide them with resources and education to engage in an increasingly digital world.

What We Do

In 2021 we found that 63% of families we serve in our affordable housing communities and programs access the internet only through their smartphones. This Digital Initiative will provide our community with the needed resources that allow them to access school, fill out job applications online, and manage their businesses.

Our Partners:

Hacienda’s Arrobas program, in partnership with Free Geek is helping families learn critical digital skills and access devices like laptops and desktops to ensure our families have the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Arrobas has also partnered with iUrban Teen to provide middle school and high school students with STEAM programming to encourage our youth to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEAM and workforce development programming is offered at the New Columbia Learning Center in partnership with POIC/Rosemary Anderson Middle School, creating college and career pathways for middle and high school youth in the North Portland area.
