Jaclyn Hoy

Jaclyn Sarna Jaclyn joined Hacienda in the Spring of 2009 as Afterschool Program Coordinator at Villa de Mariposas on-site community center. She supports children in their achievement of academic goals through homework tutoring and organizing extracurricular activities.  She also serves as a liaison between parents and teachers to help bridge language gaps. Jaclyn earned a B.A. in Spanish/Latin American Studies from the University of Iowa in 2003, including Spanish immersion in Santiago, Chile and translating for medical doctors in Nicaragua. Jaclyn has gained experience with youth through substitute teaching and organizing an afterschool program at a Montessori school in Iowa. Jaclyn enjoys seeing kids learn and grow and appreciates being embraced as part of the Mariposas community. When Jaclyn is not studying to earn her Masters in Education from Portland State University, she enjoys practicing yoga, gardening and riding her bicycle.

Ivet Jáuregui

Ivet Ivet Jáuregui joined Hacienda CDC in July of 2012 as a Mortgage Payment Assistance Advisor. She brings years of experience in the mortgage and insurance industries and is fully committed to help struggling homeowners keep the dream of homeownership. Ivet is originally from Torreon, Mexico and studied International Business at Universidad Iberoamericana. In her spare time she enjoys photography, going to the movies, travelling and spending time with her family and loved ones.

Leslie Langenfeld

Leslie Langenfeld Leslie joined Hacienda as a housing counselor in July 2012. She has over two years experience with NeighborImpact in Bend, OR., where she taught foreclosure prevention workshops and financial fitness classes, and advocated for struggling homeowners in some of the hardest hit areas of Deschutes County. Leslie’s background includes over 15 years in the mortgage business as a funding supervisor and a loan processor. In her spare time she loves reading, biking, the outdoors and spending time with her nine grandchildren.

Jamie Melton

Jamie_crop A native Oregonian who resided as a child east of the Cascade Mountain range in Bend, Oregon, Jamie now considers Portland home. After studying French and Anthropology at the University of Oregon, she has spent her post-graduation years travelling through Europe, the United States and South America. In Portland and abroad she has spent time working in the realms of community development, food and beverage service and marketing. Her relationship with Hacienda CDC first began in the summer of 2012 when she began as an intern focused on sustainability and marketing initiatives which has since developed into a communications and marketing role within Micro Mercantes' business incubator. She enjoys volunteer work, riding her bicycle, playing sports, cooking food and travel. Her favorite thing to think about is how to reduce waste, access healthy food and live a simple life. She is looking forward to becoming a recycling master, exploring educational growth as a student at PCC/PSU and being involved in farmers market operations!

Guillermina Mendoza

Guillermina_crop Guillermina hails from Oaxaca, Mexico. She joined Hacienda in May 2012 working with the Adult Education Conevyt-Inea program. As of early 2013 she works with Expresiones as an after-school program coordinator, supporting youth in their achievement of academic goals through homework tutoring. Guillermina earned her bachelor’s degree in personnel assistance and accounting in Mexico. Since her arrival in the U.S. in 1997, she has volunteered at different at schools and retirement centers. In 2013, Guillermina began taking classes to improve her reading and writing in English. One of her goals is to receive her degree in early child development. In her free time she enjoys playing basketball and soccer with her two daughters and friends. 

Claudia Munoz

Claudia_crop Claudia is originally from Los Angeles California.  She attended UCLA University where she studied Child Psychology and Child Sign Language communication. She has home schooled her 3 children and also worked at Mt Hood Community College Head Start as a Teacher’s assistant for nearly nine years. She is currently working to receive her Child Development Associates Degree. Claudia has worked in different capacities for Hacienda CDC starting in 2010, and is currently the Afterschool Coordinator for the Expresiones program at Miraflores in North Portland.
 

Juan Muros

Juan Muros Juan has been a resident of Hacienda CDC’s housing since 1997. He worked in the community as a volunteer, helping with several programs and services offered at the Ortiz center. Juan most enjoyed working with the Portland Police to provide gang prevention programming and parenting courses to over 60 families. He received an associate degree in criminal justice from Heald College. In addition to his experience in public safety, Juan was a DJ and owned a construction firm from 2003-2008. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching soccer and spending time with his wife and children.
