Hacienda CDC's New Office
Hacienda's new Earth Advantage Gold certified headquarters building was completed late in 2015. Constructed in the heart of Hacienda's community the new office brings all our programs under one room and close to our residents and partners. The project is also the first new office building in the Cully neighborhood in 30 years. Made possible with New Market Tax Credits along with a CDBG loan from the Portland Housing Bureau, the office includes a small retail space for a minority owned business and houses the leasing office for our residential properties.
A brand new addition to the Foster Powell neighborhood the Portland Mercado is the first Latino public market in Portland. Several years of grass roots efforts, a strong partnership with the Portland Development Commission and community partners made this project a reality. Previously an abandoned car dealership the Mercado now boasts 8 food carts, a grocer with fresh produce, a beer and wine shop, a meat and chorizo vendor, a coffee shop, a party shop and a fruit and juice store along with offices for small business and a full time affordable commissary kitchen.
Vista de Rosas
Four buildings of Villa De Clara Vista were partitioned off and remodeled into Vista de Rosas. The project upgraded the exterior cladding, added energy efficient mini-split heating, provided bike storage, a BBQ and play area as well as brand new interiors for the tenants.
Located at our Ortiz Community Center and finished in 2013 the covered court provides a safe and convenient place for tenants to be active despite the weather. Working with our Living Cully partner Verde and the Bureau of Environmental Services Hacienda installed an eco-roof. Most recently, thanks to a grant from The City of Portland and the Solar Forward program the roof hosts a 10 KW photo-voltaic system that provides power for the futsal court as well as the Ortiz Center.
Baltazar F. Ortiz Community Center
Built in 2000 the Ortiz Center holds a Multnomah County health clinic, Bienestar and a number of other social services for the Cully community. The building was updated with new windows and paint in 2014 and a new HVAC system, roof and sidewalk improvements in 2015.
