Green Career Pathways
Overview
This project links participants to training and career opportunities in the growing green sector of our economy. Training opportunities include weatherization, energy auditing, solar panel installation, green construction, green cleaning, and many others. The project will also assist those interested in developing their own small “green” business or to become general contractors to get access to green construction contracts.
The project is funded by grants from the National Council of La Raza (NCLR, www.nclr.org) and a sub-grant from WorkSystems, Inc (www.worksystems.org) via a grant from the Department of Labor. Hacienda will enroll up to 40 participants in this project over two years, with a goal that 90% will complete training and be placed into good-paying green jobs.
