Hacienda entrepreneurs prepare for tax season
This Thursday, in a partnership with MercyCorps Northwest, Hacienda CDC will provide a class on business taxes to all current and past participants of Arrancando Mi Negocio. Arrancando Mi Negocio is Hacienda’s culturally specific microenterprise training course that guides participants through the development and execution of a personalized business plan. While the course is 10 weeks, Hacienda strives to provide continued support to its participants through a mentorship program, partner networks and invitations to seminars. This Thursday’s seminar will take place at the Baltazar Ortiz Center from 6-9 p.m.
If you are interested in learning more about Arrancando Mi Negocio as a participant or as a volunteer, please contact Valentina Orantes-Gomez. Becoming a volunteer mentor is a great opportunity to touch up on Spanish, review skills in entrepreneurship, and get to know a diverse and hardworking community. Now is an especially exciting time to become a mentor for Arrancando Mi Negocio because many of the current participants are involved in the Mercado Project, to create Portland’s first Latino market.
