PORTLAND, Ore. - In March, Hacienda Community Development Corporation was awarded $125,000 in operating support from Meyer Memorial Trust. Over the next two years, Hacienda’s executive team and board of directors pledge to increase visibility and accessibility to Hacienda’s services in affordable housing, homeownership, microenterprise, asset building, inter-generational education and civic engagement.

“Hacienda CDC’s outreach and influence has grown, and necessarily so,” says Guillermo Sandoval, board chair to Hacienda CDC. “Latinos are the largest and fastest growing minority in Oregon. We are thankful to receive Meyer Memorial Trust’s support in fulfilling our mission and building upon our role as a primary Latino serving organization in Multnomah County.”

Meyer Memorial Trust plays a key role in enabling Hacienda CDC to meet the needs of this fast-growing demographic. According to the Coalition of Communities of Color, Latinos now account for 11% of the population of Multnomah County. Census data confirms that Latinos are growing at five times the rate of the general population in Oregon.

Hacienda develops affordable housing and builds thriving communities in support of working Latino families and others in Oregon by promoting healthy living and economic advancement. For more information, visit www.haciendacdc.org.
