Carlos joined the Hacienda team in December 2011. He has over 7 years of experience advocating for struggling homeowners and creating homeownership and other asset building opportunities for working families. In his new role, Carlos oversees Hacienda’s newest strategic initiative to integrate Financial Capabilities into all of its programmatic areas. Carlos hopes to continue advocating for policies that help promote family economic success throughout Portland and the State of Oregon. Carlos holds a degree in International Business from Oregon State University where he worked throughout his undergrad career on issues of access and retention for Chicano/ Latino students. On his own time Carlos enjoys traveling, playing basketball, biking, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Nai Zhao joined Hacienda as a Data Specialist in December 2015. Prior to joining Hacienda, Nai worked as a research analyst at HSRI where she was involved with child welfare program evaluations measuring safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children and families. As a Portland native and first-generation Mien refugee college graduate, Nai is passionate about community development and improving economic outcomes for marginalized communities in Portland. Nai holds a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from Portland State University. In her spare time Nai enjoys reading, trying new recipes, spending time with loved ones, and keeping up with the latest fashion blogs.
