Quality, Affordable Housing

Developing quality, affordable housing is at the core of Hacienda’s mission. Hacienda's buildings are more than just housing, they are places where families can live and thrive in safe, supportive, community-centered environments. One- to four- bedroom townhomes and apartments are built around community centers, gardens and playgrounds. Resident youth and adults have access to on-site Community Building and Asset Building programs designed to strengthen the economic, physical and emotional health of families. Since its creation in 1992, Hacienda has rehabilitated or built 400 units of affordable housing in some of the most depressed areas of North and Northeast Portland.

Green Building

Hacienda-built developments incorporate innovative green building and energy-efficient designs not traditionally found in affordable rental housing. Hacienda is committed to green building because it is better for our residents, the environment and it makes economic sense. Green building incorporates renewable energy, sustainable materials and energy-saving technology, reducing operation and maintenance costs and lower residents’ utility bills. Read More
