A grassy area off the Killingsworth entrance to Clara Vista Townhomes had become nothing but dirt and mud from constant play of children and pedestrian traffic. Originally a community garden was designed as a way to encourage residents to interact and to meet each other, but rising costs at the time of construction eliminated the gardens from the plan. When it was realized after one year, that children needed an additional place to play, Hacienda contacted an architect and landscape company to explore the development of a "plaza comunitaria" that would withstand the rough play of children. Completed in January 2008, the plaza is now a place for children to play soccer and ride their bikes and for families to gather and socialize whenever the rain will allow!
